Walking trails

Looking to get in your morning workout, and yet be able to connect with nature?  Or maybe it’s your evening workout, and you need to unwind from the day?  Better than any gym at this time, is natural walking trails.
Somewhat remote and removed, lined with trees, and a plethora of natures creatures.  Walking trails are one of the most relaxing ways to burn calories.  And there are several trails in your own neighborhood, that maybe you didn’t even know were there.
We have done the research for you, and found 5 of the greatest walking trails in Irvine.  Please peruse the following links, and find the trail that works best for you.

Hick’s Canyon Regional Trail

  • About 3 miles up and back
  • Very easy trail to walk
  • West end does connect to Peter’s Canyon Trail Network

A fantastic trail for runners or walkers alike. Great for training for your next 5k. A smooth flat trail which is very shady. Just a great everyday trail.

The wildlife sanctuary in the heart of Irvine that few know about. Several miles of trails available which are mostly shaded, or tree covered. Although some are unshaded. These trails feel remote even though you are still near the city.

About a half mile walk around a beautiful man made lake. Many birds for the watching. A great place for a picinic lunch, or even throwing in a line to fish.

A super easy hike with paved stairs. Less than twenty minutes to hike, with some slight rock climbing to get the the best views. A peaceful walk with few people in the afternoon. Easy and plentiful parking.

  • 1.6 mile loop trail (No getting lost)
  • Convenient and Easy parking
  • Nearby restrooms

A nice hiking and biking trail. Never very crowded, and a good walk for the whole family. Not much shade so plan accordingly. Very much an asset for any active person who loves the outdoors.
